In Oregon a broker must give a copy of the Initial Agency Disclosure Pamphlet at first contact with each consumer they will represent.
First contact- what’s that mean?
First contact means when you have enough contact information about the person to be able to provide the pamphlet. First contact can include telephone, Internet, e-mail, in person, or similar methods.
Delivery of pamphlet
It can be given by email, Internet, regular mail, fax, hand, or similar method.
Relationships and legal obligations
The pamphlet describes the legal relationship between you and the consumer when you act as the consumer’s “agent.” It also discusses your legal obligations, called affirmative duties, to both buyers and sellers in a real estate transaction.
It also describes what can happen or not happen if an agent/broker represents both the buyer and the seller.
